Make a mood board, then jot down a wish list of ideas to consider while formulating a compatible setting. Perhaps pencil a sketch or an image of a comfortable nest. Incorporate neutral, soft, whimsical, or bold accessories into your schematic.
Do you have a cozy chair or a fluffy pouf or a snuggly throw to use? A cushion, ottoman, or mat can provide inexpensive support for bibliotherapy as well. Or a plump mattress could offer literary accommodations too. Will you read while listening to music in the background? Can a small table, stool, or shelf be acquired for storage? Craigslist is an excellent venue for sourcing home goods.
Have you considered accessorizing your special niche? Focus on accouterments that emanate joy. Are you hoping to add a personalized coffee mug or favorite teacup? How about the addition of a drought-tolerant plant? Would a beloved pet bed fit in this literary corner? Do you have a wall hanging in mind? Is there a window nearby or would you need to furnish some form of additional lighting? Last but not least, mix in a shaggy throw rug to distribute extra warmth to your floors.
